Screen Capture Assignment

15 August 2012 ed432

I decided to write a guide on creating posts for first time students using WordPress. Hopefully this screen by screen walk through makes the multi-step process clear for beginners.

One thing to consider when taking screen images for documentation, is making sure the environment matches the one students will use as closely as possible. In this example, I used a temporary student account in WordPress rather than use my administrator account. If I had not taken this step, the screen shots would have shown the menus in WordPress as an administrator sees them. It is important to avoid this kind of confusion, especially when making documentation for novices.

I used a java application called Jing as my capture tool for images located in the Creating a WordPress Post guide.
